Ms. Susan Morrison
March 16, 1992
Page 2
Dam For Pond 005 by Ground Engineering Consultants, Inc. (Attachment 13-3A) and
Engineering Geologic Ground Stability Investigations 005 Gulch and Vicinity by Amuedo and
Ivey, Inc. (Attachment 13-3B).
This revision also addresses the possibility of certain stockpiles being located on unstable
ground. Exhibits 12-2 and 13-2 have been revised, with the assistance of Mr. John Ivey
(Amuedo & Ivey), to show revised locations for stockpiles QQ and SS. Stockpile 00 will not
be constructed. Stockpiles TOB3 and II should not cause a stability problem. These piles will
be visually inspected and if a problem arises, corrective measures will be taken. Stockpile P has
been moved to reflect actual location.
The questions regarding stability of Haul Road G have been addressed largely in the report
written by John Ivey. This information can be found in Tab 13, Attachment 13-3B.
Road H has not been addressed in this revision. Construction of this road has been put on hold.
Prior to initiating any construction on this road, PCC will conduct the required geotechnical
investigations.
Scheduline
As you are aware, construction of these facilities cannot commence until approval is received
from CMLRD. PCC cannot conduct any mining related activities until construction of key
facilities (ie. Pond 005) are complete. This affects the timing on all other activities scheduled
for the north mining block. PCC would appreciate an expedient review of this information in
order for pond construction to be initiated as soon as weather and ground conditions permit (May
Ol, 92).
Enclosed please find the required application form, proposed public notice, instructions for
inserting the revised material into the Seneca II-W PAP and copies of the revised material. In
order [o expedite this process, PCC would be happy to discuss any concerns,by phone or in
person, should the need arise. Please contact Tom Wainwright or me should you have any
questions regarding this submittal.
Respectfully,
W.
Gary Wendt
Supervisor, Permits
Attachment
c. J. Pendleton (CMLRD) wo/attach.
