The applicant indicates on page 27 that further hydrologic analysis is needed to evaluate groundwater
Flows and finalize sizing of control structures. (Hydraulic structures will be sized to pass surface runoff
from the 25-year storm event plus the groundwater base Flow). Please indicate what the further hydrologic
analysis will consist of, when the analysis will be completed, and how such information will be used to
finalize sizing of such structures. If such information is no[ currently available, the applicant may elect to
submit final "as built" designs along with the further hydrologic analysis when it becomes available. Such
information may be incorporated into the mining & reclamation plan via technical revision. Please
respond.
a~{
2. The applicant states on page 28 that the potential exists for impacting the shallow groundwater level in
the imm•:diate vicinity of the excavation and on page 30 that [he alluvial groundwater table will be drawn
I~ down approximately ld feet, to the bottom of the sand and gravel deposit. The applicant states on page 31
that the impact to the local groundwater level is expected to be limited to distance of onz-quarter mile
T'R ~I (1,320') from [he mining operations. Please quantify the vertical extent of drawdown expected within the
A ,320' radius and to what extent any existing groundwater wells, pond, or lake water levels may be
~j~ore r affected. If an impact is projected, please provide an zstimate of the zxtent of the impact, thz length of
~ time of the impact, and any mitigation mzasures that may be employed.
,~a[, D ~
