October 2004 -14- 043-2170
•
•
r1
LJ
placed approximately 192,900 cubic yards of DCF in the Phase Nc OSA. DCF was placed in a
minimum 2-foot thick lift over the geomembrane. During fill placement, PVC grade markers were
placed at grade breaks and on a maximum 50-foot by 50-foot grid. After DCF placement and fmal
survey, PVC grade mazkers were removed, and Ames performed any additional grading required. Ames
placed DCF in an uphill direction on any slopes steeper than 4H:1 V.
2.10 Surface Water Diversion System
As part of the Phase Nc OSA construction, the northern portion of the Phase N permanent surface
water diversion channel was constructed, as presented in IFC Drawing 8a and Record Drawing 1.
The permanent surface water diversion channel constructed during Phase Nc OSA construction
consists of approximately 1,400 linear feet of 24-inch SDR17 HDPE pipe (two pipes side-by-side)
and inlet and outlet structures. During Phase Nc OSA construction, approximately 1,270 linear feet
of 24-inch HDPE piping, 250 linear feet of 26-inch steel pipe at a haul road crossing, and inlet and
outlet structures were constructed. The surface water diversion system was designed to safely control
and divert runoff resulting from the 100-year, 24-hour storm event from the contributing upstream
watershed azea. A trash rack was placed at the inlet structure to limit plugging at the pipe entrance.
Riprap was placed at the pipe inlet and outlet to control scour at the pipe entrances and exits.
~:w,u,mw+amcm~nenrvo-xoaawuxxxo.aao.xxwc.nenrv~a~ Golder Associates
