CO 80222-1530 <br />Re: Yoast iVtine (Permit No. C-1994-082) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 15 (TR-15) <br />Utilization of Auger Mining Methods at the Final Highwall Recovery Line <br />Dear Mr. Hegeman: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on January 19, 2001, an application to revise coal mining <br />operations at the Yoast Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by <br />Seneca Coal Company. All review and comment periods as provided in the Ac[ and the Regulations initiate from <br />this date of filing. <br />This technical revision addresses the increased recovery of existing coal reserves by [he utilization of auger mining <br />methods at the final highwall recovery line. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles southwest of Hayden, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />T6N, R87W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 and 32 <br />TSN, R87W, Portions of Sections 5, 8, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 29, 30 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Mt. Hams and Dunckley. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that [his application has been deemed complete. <br />At the time of publication of [his notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of [his application at <br />the Routt County Courthouse, P.O. Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office. For <br />additional information or to provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. Tn order for us to comply with regulatory time <br />frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
