<br />Mr. Marcus Middleton -2- October 19, 1993 <br />Twentymile Coal Company <br />assume that reduced monitoring is a possibility for inactive mines, particularly with regard to <br />monitoring frequency. Conversely, it is appropriate to assume that growing, expanding mines <br />(such as the Foidel Creek Mine) may require increased monitoring requirements. Additional <br />dewatering proposed in PR-03 coupled with recent water quality problems at Site 115 make a <br />downstream station on lower Trout Creek an integral and key component of the monitoring plan <br />and subsequent determination of potential impacts to downstream users. <br />If you have remaining concerns please call me. <br />Sincerely <br />~~~~,_ <br />Kent A.
