Final grading will result in this area being
25 feet to 30 feet below the original elevation with 3:1 slopes to the
remaining unaffected, adjacent area. ~ ~--~
The final grading plan will result in the floor of the excavated area ~/
being on a corresponding elevation with the valley floor.
The slopes and resulting floor of the excavated area will be plated with
12" to 18" of topsoil as a seed bed media. The soil that was placed in
storage over the course of the life of the mine will be used for this
purpose. To avoid erosion of the soils, and possible contamination, it
is expected that the placement of topsoil on the slopes and floor of the
excavation will be delayed until completion of mining activities, and a
point in time when reseeding is imminent. At the point that no further
mining activity is expected to occur, topsoil will be placed and seeding
will be performed as soon as is feasible, probably during the fall of
the year following final grading and the placement of topsoil.
These areas will be reseeded with the seed mixture recommended by the
Shawano Soil Conservation District. The intention will be to achieve
adequate ground cover for stabilization of the sail as well as for
possible livestock grazing. Irrigation is available and owned by the ~j
property owners if it becomes necessary to augment natural precipitation
to successfully establish and maintain the grasses.
The irrigation ditch syahon system will remain in order to continue to
deliver irrigation water to downstream users.
The roads that were used as haul roads will remain as service roads for.
the properties. ~ ~ ~~ ~~ O/~~ `~5,
(~ ; w !T
~'W ~ 0w
_ - ~,
J
5 SG ~~~~w o~ ~.~s ~ira~.

6
