rU~~-11-?x+99 0917 FROM STEIGERS CORPORRTION TO 3038328106 P.06
.~~
~~ expected when analyzing actual groundwater samples.
Detection limits repotted for actual groundwater samples by the laboratory on data sheets
(also reported as MDLs) may be influenced by several factors, including matrix interference
and dilution. Therefore laboratory test results cannot be expected to achieve the same
detection limits for individual samples as can be achieved through a laboratory MDL study.
Given the effects of matrix interference and dilution, detection limits may vary among
samples.
It is anticipated that testing methods employed by the laboratory during implementation of
the Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Plan will be those used to generate the
MDLs in Tables 2 and 3. Because sample characteristics (e.g., matrix interference) may vary
substantially, other methods may be used if, in the laboratory's opinion, alternative methods
would yield higher quality data and/or lower detection limits than the anticipated methods.
American Soda and/or the laboratory will use appropriate methods based on the sample
characteristics and will make every reasonable a ort to hold the MDLs for all samples at,
or preferably below, the applicabl s dard.
