NATIONAL KING COAL, LLC, 11783 Highway 337, Tijeras, New Mexico 87059,
<br />a wholly owned subsidiazy of GCC of America, Inc., phone (970) 385-4528 has filed
<br />an application for a succession of operator to Mining and Reclamation Permit #C81-
<br />035 with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Boazd under the Colorado Surface
<br />Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The former holder of the mining and
<br />reclamation permit was National King Coal, LLC, 4424 County Road 120, Hesperus,
<br />Colorado 81326. The mine is located in portions of Sections 31 and 32; T35N,
<br />R11W, N.M.P.M., Section 36; T35N, R12W, N.M.P.M., and Sections 5, 6, 7 and 8;
<br />T34N, R11W, N.M.P.M., La Plata County, Colorado. The surface of the area to be
<br />mined is owned by Huntington Ranches, LLC, Crawford Ranches, Marc A., Ronald
<br />H. 8s Norris H. Crawford, Bonnie E. Patterson, Thomas Lee Compton Revocable
<br />Trust, National King Coal, LLC and the State of Colorado. All mining activities of the
<br />King Coal Mine lie to the south side of Hay Gulch, approximately 4.5 miles
<br />southwest of Hesperus, as identified on U.S.G.S. 7.5 Minute Quadrangles of
<br />Hesperus and Kline. Federal coal has been extracted from the King Coal Mine since
<br />1941.
<br />Any person whose interests are or may be adversely affected may submit
<br />written comments on the application to the Colorado Division of Minerals and
<br />Geology, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 within fifteen (15) calendaz
