EY.HIBIT A -- Legal Discription
NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 2 Range 70 West Tormship $ North
JUN 3 0198)
MINED LAND
EXHIBIT B -- Mining Plan t3 CLAMAPION pIV~SIOfv'
The operation xi.ll"be a surface mine (open pit) in and around an exis ing quarry of
90 to 100 years old, This quarry is laying on a 30° to 40° tilt to t e East, A
large bulldozer x111 be used to push any existing rock piles and over urden doxnhill
to the Fast, As the stratified stone in uncovered, hammers, picks, rs, wedges
and physical labor is used to free the stone from its formation. For lifts are
used to move the stone to trucks for transport,
EXHIBIT C -- Map
Map attached. Tne two red circles on the map, represent the areas be g worked presently.
Each circle is Approx. 1 acre.
EXHIBIT D -- Wildlife, Water Resources, Vegetation and Soil Informa
Wildlife species list; Deer, turkey, marmot, skunk, rabbit, coyote, f x, magpie,
raptors, numerous small rodents, and seasonal songbirds,
No known threatened or endangered species.
This is an area that has been quarried for many years, and the whole rea is in a
disturbed situation. Human activity has also limited the wildlife ac ivity of the
total area,
Assessment of impact is minor to non-existant in this particular qua
Soil is scarce in the rock piles and existing quarries.
Vegetation consists of skvnkbrush, cacti, various native bunch grasse and a fex pine
trees.
Water Resources; Rain and snow.
EXHIBIT E -- Reclamation Plan
As indicated on the map, the overburden will be pushed doxn hill to t e East, Most
all of any excavating is the moving of existing rock piles. Since th re is very
little soil >n these overburden piles of nearly 100 years old, grass d shrubs cannot
be the only means of reclamation,
Many people in the State of Colorado are considering crushing these o d rockpiles,
creating possibly a cheaper decorative rock for landscaping. More ma ket tests need to
be performed to indicate if large initial investments for crushing an hauling can be
recovered from the consumer. As Colorado's population grows, the fea ibility of
crushing these waste piles become more probable.
Using much of the overburden for land fill is also a possible way of leaning the
land and restoring it to a more natural state. Many projects in the leaning require
widening Hiways and building Earthen Dams. Hiway 36, Z miles from th quarry, will be
widened in the next fex years. Both sides of the road will need a gr t deal of fill.
A creative sense of business and a groxing Colorado, will enable us t reclaim quarries
of more then 100 years old,
Most of the mountain lies on a 35° - 45° tilt. The stone lies in App ox. 7 different
