CO 80203-2273 <br />RE: Technical Revision, Stony Ridge Fan Relocation, Permit No. C-025-81 <br />Dear Mr. Liddle: <br />Snowmass Coal Company hereby requests a Technical Revision to Permit <br />No. C-025-8t to allow the relocation of the Stony Ridge fan from the South tc <br />the North side of Stony Ridge in accordance with sections 4.03 and 4.04 of <br />the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. <br />General Description <br />The Stony Ridge Fan No. 2 sits on the South side of Stony Ridge (see <br />map D-2-1, Volume 4, of Snowmass' Permit to Mine Coal). It is necessary to <br />move the fan from the South side of Stony Ridge to the new location on the <br />North side (Figure 1) in order to continue driving slopes and longwall panels <br />as outlined in the life of mine report. Without this fan move, there will <br />not be enough air to effectively ventilate future development and longwall <br />panels. <br />The fan raise itself will start from the 1 s~7uth 1 entry at No.3 cross- <br />cut (Figure 2) and extend 235 feet up the dip (27 ) of the coal .seam to the <br />outcrop. This entry will be 18 to 20 feet wide. <br />The fan itself will be located so that it exhausts i <br />tion as indicated on Figure 2. Adjacent to the fan, a one <br />metal building will be constructed to house the fan water <br />All of this fan structure will sit on a concrete pad.
