MCC is also requesting an extension for decision for MR-287.
MCC has requested a minor revision to the mining and reclamation permit to construct and install up to
five (5) additional methane drainage wells (MDW) from existing pads on Panels 16 and 17. Currently
the plan is to include two additional holes from Pad 17-01 and a second hole from Pad 17-08. MCC
has requested the CDMG to estimate the bond for these additional MDWs. The CDMG responded
with a request for more information regarding well completion in order to complete the bond estimate.
The additional holes from the 17-01 pad will include 17-Olb, and possibly 17-Olc. Drilling of 17-Olc
has not been decided yet.
The holes have the typical dimensions: 12.25" hole to 1250' cased to 9 5/8"
8.25" hole from 1250' to 1500'-1550' cased to 7"
It is our understanding that this information will allow the Division's calculation of the bond estimate
for this project.
