(MCC) submits the enclosed Minor Revision application for the <br />installation of a buried pipeline from the polishing ponds at the Sylvester Gulch Mine Dewatering <br />and Treatment Facility terminating at a frac tank east of Shaft No.2, for fire control measuresd in <br />mine and on the surface. Mountain Coal Company (MCC) is proposing to install this pipeline in <br />Sections 21 and 22, of T.13S, R.90W, 6a' Principal Meridian, Gunnison County, Colorado. The <br />proposed project is within the current permitted coal mining area (Permit Number C-80-007) and on <br />the east fork of the Sylvester Gulch. <br />The pipeline will be installed along the Main Sylvester Gulch Haul Access Road past the No.l and <br />No.2 Shafts to a frac tank located east of the shaft site topsoil stockpile. The pipeline will consist of <br />approximately 4,100 ft of 12-in (1D) high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. The pipeline will be <br />buried approxiamly 5 ft below the ground surface to protect the waterline from freezing. <br />The purpose of this pipeline is to implement fire fighting control measures in the mine as well as on <br />the surface, currently no such controls exist in this area. Installation of hydrants will be associated <br />with this pipeline. All construction will occur on previously disturbed azeas on private property <br />owned by MCC. <br />The attached Surface Facilities Sylvester Gulch Facilities Area, Map 53B, at a scale of 1" = 300', <br />depicts the general location of the proposed pipeline. <br />We appreciate your consideration and cazeful review of this submittal and, as always, would be <br />happy to work with you to address any questions or concerns that azise during the review process. <br />Sincerely, i~~~~ `"_ -" <br />Henry A azbe <br />
