<br />Bowie No. 2 Mine Permit Revisions, Public Meeting <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology will hold a public meeting to <br />discuss proposed permit revisions for the Bowie No. 2 Mine at the Paonia Town <br />Hall at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 5, 1999. This meeting is an informal <br />conference held in response to requests for a conference to discuss Permit <br />Revisions 2 and 3, submitted by Bowie Resources Ltd. (BRL) for the Bowie No. <br />2 coal mine (permit number C-96-083). The conference has been requested and <br />will be held in accordance with Rule 2.07.3(6) of the Regulations of the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. At the meeting, the Division will <br />summarize the mine plan revisions submitted to the State by BRL ,answer <br />questions which were asked people requesting the conference and, accept <br />additional comments. <br />With Permit Revision no. 2, BRL proposes to use longwall mining to recover <br />privately owned fee coal within the currently approved permit area. With Permit <br />Revision no. 3, BRL proposes to construct a surtace conveyor, enlarge an <br />existing coal stockpile and, relocate a sedimentation pond.
