DEPREDATION PERMIT (Mieratorv Bird Treaty Act, 50 CFR 21.41) II <br />Note: A Migratory Bird Depredation Permit authorizes certain management and control <br />activities necessary to provide for human health and safety, protect personal property, or <br />allow resolution of other injury to people or property. No permit is required merely to scare <br />or herd depredating migratory birds other than endangered or threatened species and bald <br />or golden eagles. A depredation permit is intended to provide short-term relief from <br />migratory bird depredation until long-term measures can be implemented to reduce or <br />eliminate the depredation problem through nonlethal control techniques. You must be at <br />least 18 years of age to apply. Please make sure you attach a copy of any applicable State <br />permits, as requested in C.2. on page 1 of this application. <br />Please provide the following information.• <br />Briefly describe the nature of the problem you are experiencing and the remedy you <br />propose. <br />2. List the species of migratory birds committing the injury and estimate the quantity of each <br />involved. <br />3. Provide the exact location where the depredation control activity would be conducted. <br />4. Describe the specific damage being caused and how long it has been occurring. Describe <br />any human health and safety hazazds involved. <br />Describe the extent of the damage and estimate the economic loss suffered as a result. <br />6. Describe the nonlethal control techniques you have used to control or eliminate the <br />problem, including how long and how often they have been conducted. <br />Anyone who will be assisting you with the activities authorized by your permit must be <br />authorized as a subpermittee under your pemrit. Please provide the name and address of <br />anyone who will be duectly involved in the depredation control activity. Include any <br />commercial company that may be contracted to conduct the work. <br />8. You must retain records relating to the activities conducted under your pemut for at least 5 <br />years. Provide the address where these records will be kept. <br />9. You must obtain a Migratory Bird Damage Project Report (WS Form 37) prepared by the <br />U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Wildlife <br />Services, providing their recommendation regazding your depredation problem.
