Anderson MINED LAND
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation RECLAMATION DIVISION
1313 Sherman Street, Room 423
Denver, CO 80203-2273
Re: Delta Loadout Site Reclamation, File C-034-81
Dear Brent:
As requested during the bond reduction inspection for Grand Mesa Coal Company's
Delta Loadout, further information is being submitted on reclamation activities
at the site.
Work was started September 16, 1986 on hauling coal waste from the stockpile
pads in Delta to the mine site underground development waste disposal area.
A total of 4,865 tons of material were hauled to the mine site by October 29,
1986 when the clean-up ended. The agreement for the cover work called for
6 - 9" of dirt. A cover of 6 - 12" was placed between October 31 and November
15, 1987. Broadcast seeding of the site was done the first week in December
with 30#/acre of a dry land pasture mix consisting of:
25% Lincoln Smooth Brome
5% Intermediate Wheatgrass
15% Perennial Ryegrass, Tetraploid
10% Annual Ryegrass
10% Slender Wheatgrass
20% Crested Wheatgrass
15% Russian Wildrye
Due to the fertility of the dirt used, T-3 and T-4, Table 2.04.9 (1)(b)-1 in
the permit application, no fertilizer was used. A straw blower was used to
distribute approximately 1.5 tons per acre of oat straw during the first half
of January 1987.
Let me know if there are any further questions about the work done at the Delta
Site.
Sincerely,
Lr.~s ~ ~~ /~ ft¢
LarrylM.
