Mr. Daniel T. Matbewr
Drvition ofMixeralr and Geology
Angutt 8, 2003
Page 2
During regrading the earthen berm would be removed and the topsoil from the up-gradient
berm would be spread and left in a roughened condition to reduce future erosion until
revegetation is accomplished. On these small areas it is believed that leaving the surface in a
roughened condition is sufficient sediment control. However, where the terrain is extreme or
conditions dictate, silt fencing will be installed in appropriate locations to further reduce the
potential for siltation off-site.
2. The Project map depicts hvo drill rites kcated on approved Topsoil Stockpile.9AA. Presumably, the titer an
adjacent, but not actually on the topsoil stockpile. Please clarify and address measurer that will be taken to
protect the stockpiled topsoil.
Response: You are correct that the location for Topsoil Stockpile AAA is approved, however
there is no topsoil stockpiled in this location at this time. Therefore, the two drill sites can be
established, the holes drilled and reclamation conducted before the area is needed for topsoil
stockpiling activities.
If you have further questions or comments, please contact me at (970) 276-5206.
'ncer~ly,~
~~\\\\\\VV 1111 .
Robert J.
