The responses are provided in the same order as
the Division's questions.
COMPLETENESS
1) A clearance statement will be provided in the threatened and endangered species report (to soon be
forwarded to the Division), referencing the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the Colomdo Division of Wildlife, or
published sources, in compliance with Rule 2.02.2(2)(h).
ADEQUACY
2) Comment noted.
3) Most of the tvttings from the two proposed piezometer holes will be disposed in the annulaz space above
the completed monitoring horizon in the holes. Should any excess remain, the material will be disposed in one or
more of the other holes or hawed to MCC's approved refuse pile.
4) A plastic tarp will be placed over the ground surface with the sides pulled up to form a temporary dike
(e.g. pulled up onto straw bales) to contain cuttings from the holes. Straw bales or filter fence may be used as an
alternative containment structure. Vehicle access to the site would be avoided in the case of excessive muddy
rnnditions. Disturbed sites will be promptly reclaimed by grading ,seeding and straw-mulching the sites.
5) A[ those drilling sites where topsoil is present (i.e., some sites on the old mad surface do not contain
topsoil), all available topsoil will be salvaged from an area of approximately five square feet around the immediate
drilling area and stockpiled nearby.
6) As stated in the NOi appliption MCC tray complete two holes, LRP-1 and LRP-i, as piezometers. For
final reclamation, the two-inch PVC pipes would be filled with concrete from the monitored horizon tojust below
the ground suface. The pipe will be cut oat that point and the hole site (approximately three square feet) back-
filled with soil and the surface seeded.
7) The cuttings from these shallow holes will likely consist of gravel and soils from the hole and should not
present a concern of the viability or stability of the well configuration if placed directly above the filter pack.
