NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to Approval with Conditions Technical <br />Revision Application No. 34 (TR-34) for the Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C-1996-083), submitted by <br />Bowie Resources Limited. In Technical Revision No. 34, Bowie Resources Limited (BRL) is proposing <br />to construct a coal conveyor system to bring B-seam coal from the B-seam portal bench up to the D-seam <br />portal bench for handling through the existing breaker and crushes From there, the coal will be conveyed <br />through the existing downhill conveyor system to the unit train loadout. BRL is also proposing to <br />construct a temporary coal breaker and crusher handling system on the B-seam portal bench until the coal <br />conveyor system is constructed. No new surface land disturbance is proposed in this revision. <br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine is an Underground coal mine located in Delta County, approximately 5 miles NE <br />of Paonia, Colorado. Coal interest is Federal and private, and the surface affected is Federal and private <br />land. The permit azea encompasses approximately 5,124.60 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all <br />requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101, et seq., C.R.S., <br />and the regulations promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, including stipulations, are on file for public inspection at the Colorado <br />Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, Centennial Building, ] 313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may <br />request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Boazd on the proposed decision. Such <br />request must be made within ten (10) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in writing, and <br />must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to the proposed <br />decision. <br />
