Groundwater Monitorinv:
10) Please update Section 3.3.4.2 to reflect the fact that
the groundwater monitoring wells have been removed and
groundwater monitoring is no longer required at the site.
surface Water•
11) During a recent site visit, the Division made
measurements of the ditch system which were included in
the inspection report. The permit states that the
minimum dimensions of the main sediment control ditches
are to be 66" (5.5') wide and 32" (2.6') deep, and that
other diversion channels are to be 42" (3.5') wide and
20" (1.7') deep. All of the points measured on the
ditches were less than 2.6' deep, and many were less than
1.7' deep, although most of the ditch widths were much
larger than the design width. Please restore the ditch
system to design specifications or provide the Division
with a demonstration that the current ditch configuration
will pass the design flow. The work should be done or
the demonstration submitted by July 22, 1996.
12) The T-intersection of the ditch system (where the east
and west ditches meet and are routed to the sediment pond
via a central ditch) is not constructed according to
design specifications. There is a large hump of earth
separating the west ditch from the central ditch, and it
appears that water must sheet flow between the two
ditches. This intersection must be repaired by July 22,
1996.
If you have any questions, please call me at (303) 866-3567.
Sincerely,
~alL ~t ~ ~u.,.-2,Jt
Barbara L.
