Loos <br />Division Dveclor <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 116, Pazagraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 23, 1999. an application to <br />revise coal mining operations at the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine was considered complete for the purposes of <br />Filing. The revision was submitted by NCIG Financial, Inc.. All review and comment periods as provided <br />in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This proposed technical revision (revision) provides for removal of an approximately 400-foot-long by <br />25-foot-wide strip of ground from the permit area. This action reduces the permit boundary to areas <br />south of County Road 335. This area was a corridor for a water pipeline from the Colorado River to the <br />facilities area of main permit area. There was no disturbance to soils or vegetation in this area of the <br />permit. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles West of Glenwood <br />Springs, Colorado. The permit azea is further described as follows: <br />T6S, R91W; Portions of Sections 1 and 12 <br />T6S, R90W; Portions of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute C,~uadrangle maps of Storm King <br />Mountain and New Castle. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Garfield County <br />Courthouse, 109 8th St Ste 200, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601. and at the Division office.
