The overall project area is composed of a central core of Federal Coal Lease .4reir hinds <br />(FCLA) where federally ovvrted minerals occur under private and feckral lands, and a larger az'ea of <br />surrounding private and state lands, enclosed by thz project botmdat-~'. The current, drill hole sites <br />and access roads, project arty is located in [he northeastern quadrvtt of the overall prnjeet area. It <br />is comprised of portions of sections 4 and 9 in TAN R88V1'. The project consists of 3 drill hole site, <br />and access roads totaling acres of 2.67 block and 0.3 miles of littcar sut~ ev (Figure l; Table 1). An <br />intensive culttual resoucec survey was conducted from Anril ?0'h to 2~`'', 1993 by Iohn (:r. Momson <br />and Eugene Romartski of Metcalf Archacolo@ical Consultants Inc. (t\•L\Cl.
