RESULTS AND DISCUSSION <br />Cover <br />Total herbaceous vegetation cover in 2005 in the. reference area samples averaged 47.5 <br />percent. The performance standard would be 90 percent of the approved reference <br />area mean and hence 42.8 percent (= 47.5 x 0.9). Herbaceous cover in Parcels 003, <br />HG8, E, and the slump area all exceeded this level (Table 9). <br />Woody Plant Density <br />As can be surmised from Figure 2, the overall area-weighted average woody plant <br />density of parcels 003, HG8, and E (1767 stems per acre) in 2005 well exceeded the <br />performance standard of 750 stems per acre. <br />Species Diversity <br />The species density of the reference area sampling in 2005 averaged 14.2 species per <br />100 sq.m. in 2005. 90% of this value is 12.8 species per 100 sq.m.
