The proposeu spoil spring monitoring plan is slightly different from the
existing plan. The existing plan specifies that during the annual spring
survey, all observed springs will be mapped, and monitored for field
parameters. It also specifies that if a spring is flowing at a rate
greater than 35 g.p.m., then a full suite will be taken (Exhibit 15,
page 15-26), and the site will be monitored in accordance with the spring
monitoring plan. The proposed plan (page Exhibit 15-7) indicates that
the site will be revisited during the month following the survey (June),
then sampling will initiate. It is possible that by June, flow will have
decreased to the point that sampling is no longer possible.
Please revise the plan to clearly indicate that if a spring is observed
to be flowing at a rate of at least 35 g.p.m. during the May survey, then
the first of the required full suite samples will be taken at that time.
2.) Please provide the Map 4b at this time.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Si
a A. Berry
amation Specialist
DAB/ern
cc: Jim Stevens, MLRD
7162E
