Long <br />Re: Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C-96-083) Division Direclor <br />Technical Revision Application No. 8 (TR-8) <br />Add West Pod to Mine Plan and Up Date Mine Plan Map and Subsidence Information <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance withTitle 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 18, 1999, an application to revise coal mining <br />operations at the BowieNo.2Minewasconsideredcompleteforthepurposesoffiling. The revisionwasubmitted <br />by Bowie Resources Limited. Allreview and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate <br />from this date of filing. <br />Approval of this technical revision would allow mining in the west section of the already approved permit area. <br />Mining would remain conventional room and pillar and [fare would not be any increase in the production rate. No <br />Federal coal is involved. In addition, the mineplan map is being updated with this technical revision to show the <br />current extent of mining and the proposed addition to the mine plan. Finally, the subsidence section of the permit <br />application is being updated to include mining through the fault that will need to occur in order to access the <br />proposed west mine section. <br />The undergroundcoalminingoperationisonlandlocatedapproximately~milesnortheastofPaonia,Colorado. Th <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 16, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Delta County Courthouse, 5th <br />& Palmer, Delta, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide writte comments, <br />contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 21~, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-367. In order for us to comply with reeulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted <br />within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
