THE BIG BURN PIT IS IN <br />OPERATION NOW AND WILL EXPECT TO OPERATE UNTIL JULY OF 2OOZ. <br />Z. THE TOPSOIL IN THE PROPOSED AFFECTED AREA IS ESTIMATED <br />TO BE 6"-H" IN DEPTH. THE OPERATOR WILL SALVAGE AT LEAST H" <br />OF THE SURFACE MATERIAL FOR RECLAMATION PURPOSES. THE <br />TOPSOIL WILL 8E STORED, SHAPED AND STABILIZED IN THE AREA <br />SHOWN ON EXHIBIT C-3. THE TOPSOIL PILE WILL BE STABILIZED BY <br />BROADCAST SEEDING THE SEED-MIX SPECIFIED IN 7HE RECLAMATION <br />PLAN. THIS STORAGE AREA IS OUT OF THE WAY OF MINE TRAFFIC <br />AND OUT OF THE EPHEMERAL DRAINAGEWAYS. <br />3. THE PRODUCT TO BE MINED IS SAND, GRAVEL AND CLAY FOR <br />ROADBASE MATERIALS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF <br />MOFFAT COUNTY~S ROAD SYSTEM. THIS MATERIAL WILL HAVE NO WASTE <br />ROCK BECAUSE THE OVERSIZED ROCK WILL BE USED FOR RIP-RAP. <br />THERE WILL BE NO OVERBURDEN TO DEAL WITH iN THE AFFECTED <br />AREA. <br />4. THE GRAVEL IS OF THE BROWNS PARK FORMATION BENCHED AT <br />THE EASTERLY FLANK OF LIMESTONE RIDGE. THE THICKNESS 1S <br />ESTIMATED TO BE UP TO SO FEET, HOWEVER, THE PRESENT <br />OPERATION PLAN IS TO EXTRACT LS TO ZO FEET OF THE MATERIAL. <br />S. THE MAJOR COMPONENT OF THE MINE WILL BE THE EXCAVATION <br />P17 AREA. ROAD-BASE MATERIALS WILL BE TEMPORARILY STOCKPILED <br />AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS ON THE FLOOR OF THE EXISTING PIT. THESE <br />MATERIALS WILL BE HAULED TO THE JOB-SiTES AS NEEDED. THE <br />ACCESS IS AN EXISTING UNIMPROVED DIRT ROAD CONNECTING TO <br />MOFFAT COUNTY ROAD N0. IO NORTH APPROXIMATELY ONE M]LE TO <br />THE EAST. A PORTION OF THIS ROAD WILL BE RELOCATED OUT OF THE <br />WAY OF THE MINING OPERATION AND REPLACED NEAR ITS ORIGINAL <br />LOCATION AFTER THE MINING PHASE. NO OTHER FEATURES OR <br />FACILITIES WILL BE DEVELOPED FOR MINING PURPOSES. <br />6. IN ORDER TO GRADE THE AFFECTED AREA FOR POST'MINING <br />USE THE APPLICANT WILL MOST LIKELY DISTURB MOST OF THE <br />AFFECTED AREA DESIGNATED ON EXHIBIT C-1. <br />~. NO NEW ROADS OR OTHER IMPROVEMENTS WILL BE NECESSARY. <br />H. NO WATER WILL BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS <br />OPERATION. <br />
