Canany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 1Q 2004, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Seneca II- <br />W Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company. All review <br />and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This revision application proposes updates and modifications to various sections of the approved pemut application, including <br />changes to certain provisions of the operations and reclamation plan. The revision application was submitted in response to the <br />Division's mid-term permit review. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles south of Hayden. The permit azea is further <br />described as follows: <br />TSN, R88W; All of Section li; Portions of Sections 9, 10, I I, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35 <br />T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Hayden Gulch, Hayden, Dunckley and <br />Mt. Harris. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Hayden Public Library, <br />201 E. Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, CO 81639, and at the Division ofTice. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen <br />(15) days of this letter.
