NOTICE <br />Notice is hereby given that GRAND VALLEY COAL COMPANY ("GVCC"), <br />permittee of the McClave Canyon Mine, whose address is P.O. Box 599, Helper, Utah <br />84526, has submi[ted an application, pursuant to the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act of 1979, to the Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology, Department of <br />Natural Resources, for transfer of Permit No. C-80-004 (the "Permit"), to Lodestar Energy, <br />Inc. ("Lodestar"), whose address is 333 West Vine Street, Suite 1700, Lexington, Kentucky <br />40507. Upon approval of the Permit transfer and consummation of a business transaction <br />being negotiated between GVCC and Lodestar that would convey the Permit, the Permit and <br />permit area would be owned or controlled by Lodestar, a Delaware corporation. The permit <br />area is located on State Highway 139, approximately 19 miles north of Loma, Colorado, <br />within the following portions of Township 7 South, Range 102 West, 6'" PM, Garfield County, <br />Colorado: <br />Section I5: All <br />Section 16: E1/2 <br />Section 21: E1/2, E1/2 W1/2, SW1/4 NW1/4, and NW1/4 SW1/4 <br />Section 22: All <br />Section 27: NI/2 <br />Section 28: NW1/4 NE1/4 and NE1/4 NW1/4 <br />Pertinent comments are solicited from anyone affected by this proposal.
