Cattany <br />Denver, CO 80203 Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Seneca II Mine (Permit No. C-1980.00 <br />Technical Revision Application No. 38 (TR-38) <br />Hydrology Monitoring Plan Changes <br />Deaz Mr. Simpson: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on April 7, 2005, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Seneca II Mine <br />was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This technical revision addresses changes to the hydrologic monitoring plan, and revises the surface and ground water <br />parameter lists. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles Southeast of Hayden. The permit azea is further <br />described as follows: <br />TSN, R87W; All of Sections 1, 2 and 12; Portions of Sections 3, 11 and 13 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 27, 34, 35 and 36 <br />TSN, R86W; Portions of Sections 6 and 7. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Milner and Mount Hams. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this applicafion at the Routt County <br />Courthouse, P.O. Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office. For additional information or to <br />provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
