Aa y know, we had • public
hearing on August 29, 1996, at whi h time the Board d,dn't
consider the slt• in violation, ho ver, we w~Jld 1,f<• to
make the fellerlnq points •nd obaerv gone on this matter.
I '
I.) A• of October 1, 1996, the flops were dry and no
further migrationwas obaerved.~
2.) As of October 1, 1996, all vegetation and organic matter
originally contained on the slope appears to hav• been
eliminated due to the sl/de.
3.) An earthen berm has been constructetl •nd a new gradi.,q
plan has been developed •nd implemented to inaur• that
most of the stormwater •nd snow'. melt wilh b• contained
in the iepaundment area, and rill be regulated in such a
manner !o reduce the amount of rater in the aliE• •rea.
This should prevent further lubricatton and should help
stop the migration of th• mud elide.
4.) As of October I, '996, it appears that the elide is not
progressing any further dornhll} to the river.
~.) We will not treats any product or overburden stock-
piles the! could increae• the loading of the slide area.
6.) We don't plan on doing any mechanfcal support of this
area, to stop the slide. It is our hope that the
measures w hav outlined above will help to minimise
the slides and stop the migration. ,
I
i
1 ,
y .
.Y:~.1 ~ ,i., ,
...~, .
