The irrigation pipeline will
convey water pumped from the West Pit and interceptor wells to the pumping vault in
the new irrigation pond at the ranch. The pipeline is designed to have the capacity to
convey the flow from the West Pit wells and [he two alluvial aquifer interceptor
wells. Except in five sections of the pipeline that will have adverse slopes due to
existing topography, the pipeline will have sufficient capacity to convey the design
flow under non-pressurized, gravity-flow conditions with the pipeline flowing
partially full. Air vacuum-air release valves will be located at high points to vent the
pipeline during filling and draw air into the pipeline at locations where the flow
regime transifions from full pipe flow to partially full pipe flow. Specific pipeline
design criteria are presented herein.
The following design conditions were developed to guide the irrigation pipeline
design process:
• Define a pipeline alignment between the West Pit wells and the proposed
location for the new irrigation pond. The alignment will : (1) be located
entirely on property either owned by BMRI, where BMRI holds an
existing easement, or within the limits of existing public right of ways, (2)
not interfere with major site facilities, and (3) minimize pipeline length
while avoiding excessive earthworks for pipeline construction.
Suttle Mountain Resources, lnc.
