The stately cliffs and
mountains of i:he front range will never be seen again.
Snyder Quarry was opposed when it opened years ago and the
developer (who seems to speak with forked tongue) said the
excavations would never be visible from the highway, but in
reality, it is visible for miles around. Now they want to
extend the Snyder Quarry (Black Canyon) and insult our
intelligence by offering to'paint the cliffs'to restore the
beauty.
Waldo Canyon is a popular hiking trail and recreation area
and this would ruin another area.
At the present time, there is no legislation that says the
sites have to be inspected. There are sites on the plains that
can be used, but only $ signs are the ruling factor to the
parent compny in CHICAGO. They could care less about our
tourism and attractions.
Please give this your consideration and help us save our
mountains and the Pikes Peak region.
Very truly yours,
Mrs. Guy A.
