<br />Reduction in the Frequency of Monitoring Revegetated Areas
<br />Dear Mr. Schneider:
<br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph
<br />4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 22, 1999, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Colowyo
<br />Coal Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Colowyo Coal Company L. P.
<br />All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
<br />This technical revision provides for a reduction in the monitoring of revegetated ares from the Ist, 2nd, and every 3rd year
<br />thereafterafter seeding until bond release inspections[o the I st, 2nd, and 4th year after seeding until bond release inspec[ions.
<br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 28 miles south of Craig. The permit area is further
<br />described as follows:
<br />All or portions of Sections2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16. 17, 20, 21 and T3N, R93 W; and Sections 13, I5, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27,
<br />28, 33 and 34, T4N, R93 W; 6th Prime Meridian.
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Axial & Ninemile

<br />Way, Craig, CO 81625, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written comments, contact the

<br />us to comply with regulatorytime frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (I S) days of this letter. If no
