BMRI -San Luis Pit Backfill.• Sequential Batch Tests of Cneiss
5. None of the chemistries observed across these leach tests -even at the lowest water
rock ratios, which would be observed only within the interstices of the waste rock
- would adversely affect the beneficial uses of ground water near the San Luis
Project.
Under fully saturated conditions, such as will be re-established in the backfilled West
Pit, the Pink Gneiss is not acid generating, does not leach significant concentrations of
any metal save manganese (and that only at a maximum of about 1 ppm), and is not
expected to adversely affect any beneficial use of ground water or surface water near
the Project.
The sequential batch tests of pink gneiss samples support the decision to backfill and
then re-saturate the West Pit.
Geochimica, Inc. 7 95911/1fi-Sep_95
