u~~..~C
May 31, 2006
1/
H. Bruce Humphries
Minerals Program Supervisor
Division of Minerals and Geology
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Humphries:
Re: Temaorarv Cessation of Permit File No.M1977285
RECEIVED
SUN 0 12006
Division of Minerah a~., ~. ,
International Uranium (USA) Corporation (the "Operator") is in receipt of the letter dated May 1, 2006 from
the Division of Minerals and Geology (the "Division") noticing the Operator that operations under Permit
No. M1977285, Sunday Mine, have been in temporary cessation since October 1993. The Division has
requested documentation, including the date, that mining operations have been reinitiated or that
reclamation was begun, in accordance with Section 34-32-103(13) of the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Act.
Operations at the Sunday Mine, Permit No. M1977285, were most recently conducted in 1999, not 1993
as noticed in the Division letter of May 1, 2006. The following materials are attached as documentation
for the most recent period of operations at the Sunday Mine:
1. Notice of Intent to Resume Operations sent by Certified Letter, May 30, 1997, from the Operator to
Mr. Wallace H. Erickson at the Division's Durango, CO Office.
2. Notice of Intent to Continue Mining Operations, Annual Report, dated April 21, 1998. Mine remained
on temporary cessation as of the date of this Annual Report.
3. Annual Report, dated April 22, 1999, noting ongoing mine operations.
4. Annual Report, dated June 15, 2000, noting that mine operations continued through April 1999.
5. Annual Report, dated April 13, 2001, stating that the Sunday Mine remains on standby-ready status
(entered temporary cessation of operations in 1999).
These statements provide documentation that the Sunday Mine, Permit M1977285, was last active in
1999, not 1993 as stated by the Division.
