Sediment control will be placed to control runoff and the <br />water will be conveyed as much as possible to a new mud pit. Sediment control design and the <br />demonsiratlon will be the same as the 24-05 pad in the 2004 Annual Operating Plan. The mudpii will <br />be located on the existing pad and constructed in subsoil. if any topsail is encountered, MCC will <br />place it in the existing topsoil pile and user the USFS approved seed mix for revegetation. <br />MCC will plug and abandon this MDW per DMG Rules 2.05.4 and 4.07.3, a mechanical packer will be <br />set at the lowest possible point in the well. Prom that point the hole may be plugged to within 5-feet of <br />the casing cut-off point with CDMG approved rnaterials. The top 5-feet of the well below the sub- <br />surfacecasing cut-off point (3-feet below the surface) will be plugged with a cement cap. The top 3- <br />feet ofthe casing will then be cut off and the hale Pilled in with subsoil. A permanent marker shall be <br />installed on top of the plug identifying the MDW. The pad will then be reclaimed to approximate <br />original contour. <br />The area has been previously disturbed. <br />MCC requested approval from the USFS in a letter dated May 23, 2005, to Mr. Levi Broyles, Re: <br />Mountaitt Coal Company LLC (MCC}, West Ells Mine; Permit No. C-80-007; Methane Drainage Well <br />(MDWs) 2005 Annual Operating Plan ,Amendment, and has received that approval May 24, 2005. <br />Tentatively, MCC will begin drilling this well (24-05A) as soon as the minor revision to the pemlit is <br />approved. <br />
