The highest production rates for the site are as follows:
I~
r~
Commodity Annual Production
Rate Comments
Sand and Gravel 250,000 tons/yr Many years may not mine this amount
Asphalt 50,000 tons/yr Many years may not have any production
Concrete 10,000 cu.yds/yr Many years may not have any production
2. Mining Timetable
The following timetable is a best estimate of the sequence of operations for the life of the mine after
March of 2002 and is based on mining and selling 100,000 tons of total product per year (this is less
than the permit rates but are expected averages):
Task Description Time Needed
1 Finish mining east of existing Berry Pit 3 months
2 Construct sediment pond in sw corner of disturbed area 0.25 months
3 Strip soil and overburden from Strip 1 0.25 months
4 Mine Strip 1 18 months
5 Repeat Tasks 3 and 4 for Strips 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (reclaim previous strip) 126 months
6 Mine and reclaim area of visual berm, Strips 10, 11, 12 42 months
7 Backfill overburden and soil in Strip 12 0.5 months
8 Regrade old pit area and stockpile area 0.5 months
9 Retopsoil processing area and stockpile area 0.25 months
10 Reseed and mulch last 4 strips, processing area and stockpile area 0.25 months
Total: 192.5 months
Note: If large contracts are awarded to the site, production could increase to the permit maximum,
thereby curtailing the life of the pit. On the other hand, if contracts are less than anticipated, the life of
the pit could be extended. This table is based on a reasonable projection of average production rates.
Berry Pit 3/02
