The changes include 1) restoring upper McClane
Creek flow to it's original lower segment by installing a culvert at the haul road and 2) plugging culvert "F" and
redirecting flow to the sediment pond.
1) The frequent high-flow events have caused erosion problems in the lower diverted portion of McClane
Creek. This application proposes installing culvert "P" at the haul road as a stabilization measure for the lower
diverted portion of McClane Creek. Design of new Culvert "P" is show on Table 4.2-13.
2) Culvert "F" has shown to be a high maintenance culvert and as such, this application proposes plugging
the culvert and re-directing the flow to the sediment pond. Table 2.2-12 shows the hydrologic parameters &
peak flow during mining for each drainage basin. Table 2.2-10 uses information from Table 2.2-12 to show
the required runoff and required sediment storage of the sediment pond. The constructed capacities of the
pond are shown on Figure 2.2-3. The capacity of the pond is adequate to contain the additional runoff from
drainage area D-5.
Please callrf you have any questions.
Sincerely,
'J.
