Long
Div~sian Director
The Division of Minerals and Geology received a finding of
noncompliance with the above referenced bond release from the
Albuquerque Field Office (AFO) on January 27, 1993. One of the area
of concern expressed by AFO involved the appropriateness of treating
vegetation data from three similar areas as one bond release parcel.
we request that AFO forward copies of, or references to, documents
upon which your office relied when making its determination. In
particular, any clarification of AFO's reference to small eastern mine
areas being treated as separate parcels and of Steve Rathbun's
reference to conversations with a Mr. Dennis Price of OSM (during a
phone conversation with Larry Routten of our office) would be helpful.
Thank you. in advance for your assistance and prompt response.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Steve Renner
Coal Program Supervisor
SR/ern
cc: Larry Routten
M:\oss\ern\c81032
