JUN-18-L999 15 51 9RNDC0~ INC. P.01
.' •
~'
MINING AREA RECLAMATION

i
ThEa area subject to actual mining operations comprises the
Animas River bed within the confines of the existing channel.
Topsoil and vegetation are non-existent in this area and
reclamation procedures here will consist of removing and grading
all isolation dikes, haul roads, and other surface irregular-
I~ ities created by mining activities to conform with the undis-
'~ tur~bed DOrtions of the river channel. All grading will be
accomplished in such a manner to control erosion of the affected
lard and land proximate thereto.
These procedures would occur annually after all mining operations
have been completed and prior to the seasonal high water flows,
thus assuring minimal disturbance in the areas of flowing water.
During the first period of low water flow subsequent to cess-
ation of mining operations, the river bed would be graded as
discussed above, and ail equipment or materials foreign to
the river bed removed therefrom.
PROCESSING AREA RECLAMATION
I! Under TR-02, SANDCO proposes to withdraw any post-mining reclam-
ation as we plan to use this site for processing indefinately.
La Plata County has recognized this site as COMM-IND along with
others including the Mesa Pit, which is directly south of us
and is currently designated as COMM-IND with CMLRB.
TOTRL P.01
