Long
Re: Foidel Creek Mine, C-82-056, Permit Renewal No. 3, Adequacy Response Review Di.,,~°n D~recmr
Dear Mr. Mills:
The Division has reviewed Twentymile Coal Company's responses to the Division's adequacy letters
dated September 10, 1999, and October 6, 1999. Twentymile Coal Company's responses were received
November 16, 1999, November 30, 1999, and December 20, 1999. The Division sent Twentymile Coal
Company another letter on December 21, 1999 identifying several items that still needed response, or
additional items of concern. Twentymile Coal Company's letter, dated December 15, 1999 (received
December 20, 1999), states that additional information would be addressed by a consultant (Montgomery
Watson) contracted by Twentymile Coal Company. The Division received portions identified as
contracted to the consultant on January ] 0, 2000.
The proposed decision date had been December 31, 1999. Since several adequacy items remain
outstanding, Twentymile Coal Company faxed a request for extension to the Division on December 30,
1999. This request asks for extension of the Division's proposed decision date until January 31, 2000.
The Division will extend the decision date to January 31, 2000.
This letter serves to state which adequacy items have been resolved and what items remain outstanding.
The Division will continue to use the numbering from the March 2, 1998 adequacy letter. Several
adequacy items were inadvertently renumbered in the September 10, 1999 adequacy letter. In these
instances, both the original and renumbered items aze cross referenced.
1. Revised page 3 of the permit renewal application was not submitted with updated pemut acreage
intormation. This page does not reflect the current permitted acreage. Please provide a revised
page 3 with the corrected permitted acreage.
3.a) This item was resolved by corrections to pages 2.04-7 and 2.04-7.1.
b) This item was resolved by corrections to pages 2.04-7 and 2.04-7. l .
5. Twentymile Coal Company revised page 2.04-2~ as requested. This item is resolved.
6. Twentymile Coal Company revised page 2.04-41 as requested. This item is resolved
7.6) Twentymile Coal Company revised page 2.05-2 and 2.05-2.1 to adequately address this item.
