TRAPPER MzN1NG INC.
iiiiiuiiiiiimiu
June 17. 1998
RECEIVED
Mr. Tom Kaldenbach
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver. CO 80203
'JUN 22 1998
Division of Minerals & Geology
RE: SL-Ol, PHASE II BOND RELEASE, SEDIMENT DEMONSTRATION, TRAPPER
MINING INC.. PERMIT NO. C-81-010
Dear Mr. Kaldenbach:
th response to the Division's letter dated 12/15/97 regarding the Phase ll Bond Release Application
currently under review, Trapper is submitting the following documentation for your consideration. These
materials should be incorporated into the previously submitted Phases I & ll Bond Release document
(Volumes 1 and 2) dated September 1996 as follows. Three revised pages, two new pages, and the entire
contents of Appendix 2.4 are included for your review.
Page i of the Table of Contents has been revised [o reflect the addition of text page 2-18a and Table 2.4-2
(added as page 2-19a). Tent page 2-18 has been revised and should replace the previously submitted
page. This page should be followed by new page 2-18a. Table 2.4-1 (page 2-19) has been revised and
should replace the previously submitted Table. This page should be followed by new Table 2.4-2 (page
2-19a). Lastly, the entire contents of Appendix 2.4 should be replaced by the enclosed Appendix 2.4
materials. These changes are necessitated by Trapper's revised approach towards addressing the
sediment demonstration aspect of the Phase II bond release application. In acwrdance with the
Division's suggestion to utilize an alternative methodology to address the required sediment
demonstration, Trapper is providing a single store event erosion prediction design incorporating AMC
III adjustments as appropriate. This methodology effectively provides a reasonable basis for wmparing
sediment yields from undisturbed and reclaimed lands utilizing existing baseline data for vegetation
wver and recently developed vegetation transect data.
