SHELTON, Director <br />April 9, 1987 <br />Mr. Mel Granberg <br />Office of Surface 14ining <br />Brooks Towers <br />1020 Fifteenth Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80202 <br />Dear Mr. Granberg: <br />Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, the tdined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on <br />April 10, 1987, a technical revision application fora permit to conduct coal <br />mining operations, File No. C-79-177, by Colorado Yampa Coal Co, 29588 Routt <br />County Rd 27, Oak Creek, CO 80467, was deemed complete for the purposes of <br />filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and <br />Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to cease monitoring of active golden eagle nests within <br />one mile of the permit boundary and one sharp tail grouse lek (Energy Lek), <br />and also proposes that monitoring of beaver activity along the south fork of <br />Foidel Creek within the permit area be ceased. <br />The permit area is located adjacent to County Road 27, approximately 22 miles <br />southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado within portions of T4N, R86 and 87W <br />and TSN, R86 and 87W. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map <br />of Rattle Snake Buttes. A copy of the technical revision application is <br />available for public inspection at the Routt County Courthouse, 522 Lincoln <br />Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO. Written comments, objections or requests <br />for an informal conference on the technical revision application may be <br />submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Division, Room 423, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-3567.
