Technical Revision Application No.
20 and reviewed the application prepared by BRL. The majority of the activities proposed in TR
#20 are on private or BLM public lands, and do no[ impact the National Forest. Three drill holes
(65, 66, and 67) were drilled on the National Forest in 2000. The reclamation costs of these
three holes is included in TR #20. The reclamation costs estimated must include activities
required in Iron Point Coal Lease Tract Record of Decision and lease stipulations. These
requirements are: a certified weed free source of seed to be used; and controlling spread of, and
eradicating noxious weeds (ROD Mitigation #l l).
BRL should contact us directly if they need any further information to meet these reclamation
standards.
For your information, we are currently conducting a public review and envirotunental analysis
process for BRL's proposal for additional gob vent boreholes, exploration drill holes,
groundwater monitoring sites and access on the National Forest in the Iron Point Lease and Iron
Point Coal Exploration License areas. We expect to complete analysis and required legal
timeframes for a decision in fall 2001.
Than]: you for your cooperation in our management of the National Forest.
Sincerely,
~u~ J,
SUSAN J.
