occurrence and sporadic at best. The anticipated <br />dewatering rate will be in the range of 1 to 2 cubic feet <br />per second or less. A flow of 1 cfs equates to <br />approximately 450 gallons per minute. The SEDCAD+ manual <br />states that the baseflow parameter be utilized if a <br />relatively constant flow occurs or exists. SCC believes <br />that by incorporating a baseflow of 2 cfs into the SEDCAD+ <br />pond designs, the ponds would be receiving this flow on a <br />continual basis, which is just. not true. <br />It was brought to the attention of DMG that a baseflow <br />component was already included in the pond designs. This <br />amount was previously agreed upon by both parties. After <br />these discussions, on June 26, 1995, SCC did revise and <br />include a statement in the permit to account for the <br />concerns of the Division. Prior to initiating dewatering <br />activities, the receiving pond level will be checked such <br />that the design performance of the pond will not be <br />compromised. <br /> <br />~1 <br />
