Laiho, P.E. <br />Dear Mr. Bradley: <br />In accordance with my understanding of the pre-hearing order <br />of Mr. O'Connor before the Mined Land Reclamation Board, <br />this letter outlines briefly the substance of Mr. Douglas R. <br />Laiho's testimony before the Mined Land Board at the hearing <br />to be held Wednesday, April 25th. <br />Mr. Laiho, will testify generally as follows: <br />1) Mr. Laiho will testify as to the location and course <br />of the South St. Vrain River channel as is existed <br />before it was altered by mining operations. <br />2) Mr. Laiho will testify as to the occurrence of hydro- <br />logic or stream instability, as a result of the pre- <br />sent location and configuration of the stream channel <br />and tributaries. <br />3) Mr. Laiho will testify to the effect of the changed <br />stream channel upon water rights. <br />4) Mr. Laiho will testify as to engineering practices <br />that would be required to restore the original stream <br />hydrology. <br />5) Mr. Laiho will testify as to potential erosion <br />problems due to the changed course of the stream and <br />its tributaries and activities necessary to minimize <br />the disturbance to the hydrologic balance of the <br />stream. <br />Please do not hesitate to contact this office if you have <br />questions regarding the above mentioned matters.
