Box 46667 Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />Denver, Colorado 80201-6667 <br />RE: Bear No. 3 Mine, Permit No. C-1981-033, Bear Coal Company <br />Permit Renewal No. 5, Threatened & Endangered Species Inventory, Request for <br />Assistance <br />Dear Mr. Johnston: <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) is requesting that <br />the Office of Surface Mining (OSM) enter into consultation with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife <br />Service (USFWS) concerning an updated threatened & endangered species report for the <br />Bear No. 3 Mine. <br />Attached is a copy of the Threatened & Endangered Species Inventory, dated June 19, <br />2007, which was submitted to the Division on July 12, 2007 as part of the adequacy <br />review for Permit Renewal No. 5.
