Ms. Janet Binns
Febtvary 4, 1997
Page 2
Plan discussion beginning on page 780-1 l4(a), and referencing Maps 4l and 42, is retained in the permit
document for historical purposes only. This page further directs readers to the current plan which begins
on page Permit Renewal 780-107-1.
With regard to the topsoil pile volumes in question, Permit Renewal Map 7 depicts the Pond T topsoil pile
with a volume of 4100 yd and Permit Renewal Map 8 depicts the Pond C and Pond H topsoil piles with
volumes of 700 yd and 8800 yd respectively. Current field conditions preclude verification of these
volumes. With the Division indicating the volumes involved are likely smaller than those indicated on the
maps, bonding would not seem to be a critical issue. Furthermore, the overall yardage involved would not
seem to be significant in terms of the reclamation plans for the facilities involved. In addition, the piles
associated with Ponds C and T should be addressed under the TCC permit and are depicted on Map 29 of
that document.
CYCC notes that numerous piles depicted on Permit Renewal Maps 7 and 8 no longer exist with the
volumes indicated or have been transferred to TCC liability. CYCC would prefer to further discuss what
actions, if any, are warranted in this situation before initiating steps to modify these maps in the C-81-071
permit document.
Response 14: Wells 026-94M-01 and 026-94M-02 are included on page Ex. 8-6 of Permit Renewal
Exhibit 8 as revised 10! 10(94 under MR94-80. However, a revised copy of page Ex. 8-6 of Exhibit 8 is
included with this submittal which renames these wells in accordance with the current naming convention
being used at the mine. A revised copy of Permit Renewal Table 14 is included as well and is updated with
the appropriate well completion information for these sites. CYCC's records indicate completion
information for these wells was forwarded to the Division under cover dated 10/25/94, however, Permit
Renewal Table 14 was not updated.
Response I5: Small area exemptions are currently addressed in the CYCC permit beginning on page
780-207-3. With the exception of SAE numbers 1, 2, 5, 8, and 14, all of these small area exemptions are
currently addressed under TCC Permit No. 82-056. Revised copies of pages 780-211(c) and 780-212 are
included with this submittal. These pages have been renumbered to facilitate text continuity in this section
of the document (see Response 16). These pages have been revised to indicate those instances in which the
small area exemptions have been transferred to TCC's permit The descriptions are retained in the permit
for historical reference.
Response 16: The Division is referred to TR88-16 in response to this question. Page 816-51 was
' ~ modified in this revision to eliminate the language in question. The currently revised page 816-51 should
be dated 02/09/88. Page 780-213 as revised Il/29/88 addresses Pond A as a permanentfeature. Several
pages of permit text in the vicinity of the Pond A discussion are modified under this submittal to establish
improved text continuity in this section. Pages 780-207-1, 780-211, 780-211(a), 780-211(6), 780-21 I(c),
780-212, and 780-212(a) are revised under this submittal.
Page 780-207-1 is revised to indicate that pages 780-207-1 through 780-207-4(a) are intentionally left
blank. These pages formerly contained discussion addressing Ponds, Impoundments, and Diversions,
i:\ducumrnl~cyec\¢CkmanV 6rrnewa\cprrnew6.doc
