All reviews and comment periods as provided in <br />the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of <br />filing. <br />The applicant proposes to continue conducting underground coal mining <br />operations at the Deserado Mine located approximately ten miles east of the <br />town of Rangely. Lung <br />Dnsmn Direnm <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map <br />entitled Rangely NE. <br />In order for us to approve this renewal application, we are required to <br />confirm that projections and assumptions in the permit remain valid and that <br />the operation is in compliance with the approved permit. We are requesting <br />your agency's evaluation of the renewal application with respect to the <br />continued validity of the original finding that "the proposed operations will <br />not adversely affect any publicly owned park or place listed on or those <br />places eligible for listing, as determined by the SHPO, on the National <br />Register of Historic Places, unless approved jointly by the Board and the <br />federal, State, or local agency with jurisdiction over the park or place". <br />No new surface disturbance is proposed with this permit renewal; therefore, <br />the updated permit pages have not been enclosed with this notification.
