Walker <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Minerals & Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Rm. 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Re: Edna Strip Mine (Permit No. C-1980-001) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 45 (TR-45) <br />Change in Reclamation Plan to Re[ain an Office Building and Yard <br />Dear Mr. Walker: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated August 17, 2006 (received by our office on August 21) <br />concerning the technical revision to the permit listed above. <br />It is our opinion that the proposed technical revision will have no effect on cultural resources since it <br />will allow the retention of an existing office building, graveled parking areas, and facilities and will not <br />disturb any previously undisturbed lands. <br />If azchaeological resources aze discovered during project activities, work must be interrupted until the <br />resources have been evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 <br />CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
