S~ III, EXHIBIT C - PREMINING PLAN AND AFFECTED LANDS
13xhibit C is intended to fulfill the requirements of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act as outlined in
the Mineral Rules and Regulations of the DMG and the Board related to adjacent property ownership, the
name and location of surface features and structures within 200 ft of the boundaries of the affected land,
existing topography, the total area of mined and affected lands, vegetation and other soils and water resource
information as required by the Division.
Adjacent property ownership for [he Morrison quarry is portrayed on Figure C-1, Adjacent Property
Ownership, of the previous Amendment No. 4. Property ownership remains the same as that which existed
at the time of submittal of Amendment Nos. 2, 3, and 4, in 1982, 1993, and 1994, respectively.
CAMAS subcontracted for new aerial photography to be Flown of the Central and North Quarry areas in
August 1994 and approximately semiannually beginning in 1996. The most recent detailed topographic maps
available for the site are based on aerial photography flown on 30 April 1998. This new photography was then
digitized and spliced together with 1993 South Quarry topographic maps for an updated topographic map of
the entire permit area. This updated map was used in the preparation of this mining and reclamation plan
amendment and is the basis for conducting additional geotechnical evaluations of pit slope stability within
existing and future mined areas.
Surface features such as drainages, roads and buildings aze shown on Figure C- 1, Exhibit C - Premising Plan
Map, of this Amendment No. 5 to provide a map of current conditions at the quarry (i.e., "premising"
conditions, with respect [o this proposed amendment). A power line is shown at the southern limits of the
proposed affected land which is owned by Mountain Slates Telephone and Telegraph Company as part of a
right-of-way. Prior to mining within 200 ft of the power line, CAMAS intends to initiate appropriate
notification of the utility owner and institute required relocation of the line, maintenance of safe distance
separation and/or engineering controls to ensure safe mining operations in that area.
The premising topography of the area is also shown on Figure C-1 which shows updated topography depicting
the results of mining and reclamation activities to date under the current permit and amendments. The total
area to be involved in the operation, including mined areas and areas of affected land, comprise approximately
217.8 acres. This total acreage reflects an increase of approximately 34.3 acres over [he presently approved
total acreage of 183,5 acres. The increase represents: l) a decrease of approximately l8 acres of minable
reserves in the North Quarry area; 2) a slight increase of 0.3 acres in the limit of mining at [he northeast corner
of the Central Quarry; and 3) an increase of approximately 52 acres to the limit of mining, extending the South
Quarry to the west.
The type of present vegetation at the quarry is generally characterized by extensive grassiands interspersed with
widely scattered, isolated clusters of shrubs. Present vegetation is identical to that described in the previous
O:WROfER5VD30PO0TTEX"MAffNDOS.TXT 111' I
